The rose kisslock clutch - Palestinian embroidery / Tatreez / تطريز - Designed by Grace Abdo - Embroidered by Women in Hebron

Designed exclusively for El Bustan, this unique vintage-style kisslock clutch is beautifully hand-embroidered on pinstripe Syrian fabric in black and yellowish-beige thin lines.

The central rose motif is a replication of a design found on a mid-19th-century woman’s belt. Finished with an antique bronze metal frame, it includes a detachable chain to transition seamlessly from a hand-held clutch to a shoulder or crossbody bag.

Inspired by her Palestinian heritage, Grace designed this charming bag in collaboration with the Women in Hebron cooperative.

About Women in Hebron:
Women in Hebron is a women's cooperative established to empower women from the Hebron district, primarily from the village of Idna. The cooperative provides these women with the resources to generate income for themselves and their families through the production and sale of Palestinian handicraft items.

Their work is founded on the belief that developing Palestinian handicrafts is more than just an income-generating project. It is an act of community strengthening, a way of honoring the role of women in their society, and a means to demonstrate sumud – steadfastness – in the face of the occupation of Palestine and its impact on the people.
